Learning Never Ends: My Summer Philosophy Adventure at LCC
This summer, I’ve decided to embrace one of my deepest passions—lifelong learning—by enrolling in an Introduction to Philosophy course at Lansing Community College. It’s a new chapter that beautifully aligns with my recent studies in Stoicism, a philosophy that has been grounding, empowering, and surprisingly practical in today’s fast-paced world.
Let me be honest—diving into an online college course after having gone to school the “old fashioned” way (think textbooks, face-to-face lectures, and lots of highlighters!) has been a learning curve in itself. Navigating the online portal has been somewhat challenging. Still, it has also reminded me that growth rarely comes without a bit of discomfort.
Between work, family, and everything else life brings, adding this class to my schedule has definitely required some thoughtful time management. But it’s a labor of love, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. There’s something incredibly empowering about continuing to learn—not just from the course content but from the process of stepping into something new.
I look forward to sharing more of this journey as the summer unfolds. If you’ve ever thought about going back to school, exploring a new subject, or challenging yourself in a new way, I say: go for it. The classroom may look different these days, but the joy of learning remains the same.
Stay tuned—there’s much more to come.
